Helkama is a Finnish company specializing in the development and manufacturing of fiber optic and shipboard electrical cables. All Halogen Free Shipboard Cables marine cables are manufactured to the limited (low) smoke, zero halogen standard, which remarkably improves the fire safety of ships by severely limiting the emission of toxic fumes and thick acidic smoke. Using the latest technology, the cable weight and size has been reduced to a minimum while still maintaining the highest quality. The halogen free range of cables includes both flame retardant (IEC 60332-3A) and fire-resistant (IEC 60331) cables. All Helkama shipboard cables are approved by all major classification societies and the quality system is ISO 9001 certified by DNV.
