Marine Generating Sets
Nilsson Shipping builds marine generating sets based on Cummins, John Deere, Perkins and Scania marine engines, for a wide variety of craft such as yachts, tugs, coasters, fishing vessels, off-shore standby and supply vessels, gas carriers, ferries, tankers etc. We build and design each genset to customer's specification and classification society requirements, with special empasis on providing durability and reliability at sea under extreme conditions.
Control panel
The customer decide for instance which side of the genset to place the switch cabinet, or a separate wall mounting panels can be supplied. Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) panels are normally located on or close to the generators. The Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) panels are normally located close to the mains with some controls and instrumentation positioned on the generator set. Generator alarm with shutdown and indication features with various options, we deliver the genset complete with a monitoring system suited for any type of application.
Generator
Standard generators is Leroy Somer or Stamford, 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
Starting system
Starting arrangements are normally by electric motor but air start systems are easily organised as are alternative methods such as hydraulic motor or spring starter.
Cooling system
Marine generating sets are available as standard with heat exchanger cooled engines (engine mounted), which are complete with fresh and raw water pump’s with keel cooling or radiator cooling available as alternatives.
